The country’s exports of costume jewelry reached USD60 milllion in the first 11 months of 2006, that’s up by 8.37 percent compared to the same period of 2005. The U.S. market still remained the top export market destination having FOB valued at USD 13.76 million, that's 22.92 percent market share of total exports of costume jewelry. To the dismay of many of the exporters, however, the US market registered a significant decrease of 23.96 percent as compared to 2005. Great Britain /Northern Ireland and Spain capped the second and third places having registered an 11.49 and 9.01 percent , respectively, share of total exports. On the European market, Netherlands posted the highest increase of 61.03 percent as compared to 2005, followed by Spain and Germany, an increase of 51.70 percent and 44.27 percent, respectively. Australia had the highest decrease in export market destination, 31.05 percent while Japan made an insignificant decrease of 0.15 percent.
